Mahatma Gandhi said "Cleanliness is next to godliness." He also said "Sanitation is more important than independence". While staying in the west, though Gandhi strongly ridiculed many western customs, he was impressed by the level of sanitation followed by the people. He had a dream of making India cleaner and people of India being more hygienic Cleanliness is most important for physical well-being and a healthy environment. It has bearing on public and personal hygiene. It is essential for everyone to learn about cleanliness and good hygiene and sanitation practices.
To pay a true homage of beloved Mahatma Gandhi and fulfill his dream of cleaner India, we the officials and officers of the Small Farmers' Agribusiness Consortium take pledge to make all efforts to not only our office space but also surrounding areas neat and clean.
I am Tenzing gyatso Bhutia, President of Khechoperi Organic Growers Cooperative Society Limited. The 5 Days training programme was very useful in terms of our capacity building. I personally and on behalf of every FPO, would like to extend our sincere thanks to SFAC, NIRD and other stakeholders for organising such a comprehensive training programme for FPOs in Sikkim. We are delighted that we have learned a lot in this training programme. Earlier, we were walking in dark but this training has been like a light from a candle we know now what our target is and what all we have to so before moving forward. Being a farmer we had not gone through such intensive training programme, the kind of field exposure we got was quite interesting and added a knowledge which we can practice after returning back from here. The topics covered in this training programme were very much relevant like
- FIG Awareness, Panchasutra, Organic Farming and its Legal Boundaries, Cooperative Framework, Business Plan, Value Chain etc.
